In the morning, at 09:00, departure from your hotel for the visit of the site of the grandiose Ephesus, a UNESCO World Heritage site, one of the most beautiful cities and rich in history of the ancient world. The city was home to the Artemision, dedicated to the worship of Artemis, received Saint Paul, Saint John, two councils of nascent Catholicism. You will stroll along the Marble Street to see the Agora, the Odeon, the Nympheaum of Trajan, the Temple of Hadrian; you will walk past the Roman villas and continue to the Celsius Library and the Theatre where St Paul preached.

After the discover of the Ephesus, at the lunch, we will taste typical turlkish local meals at unique open-air locomotive museum of Turkey, located next to Ephesus. After, you will also visit the House of the Virgin Mary which has been designated by the Vatican as a place of pilgrimage and which is located in a remote setting in the heights of Ephesus. We visit Ephesus Museum artefacts As the museum exhibits mostly the finds of the ancient city, instead of a chronological and typological presentation, the relics are grouped according to where they were excavated.

Among the most famous sculptures are the two big Artemises, The Head of Eros, Eros with Dolphin and the Head of Socrates.

Back to Izmir at the end of the day around 17:00

UNESCO World Heritage Pre Tour 13 - 16 October 2024

 

İstanbul - Troya - Pergamon - İzmir Tour (3 Nights)

 

October 13th 2024: Private transfers from Istanbul Airports to the hotel located very near old city. Diner at hotel.

October 14th 2024 / İstanbul: After breakfeast depart from our hotel at 09:00 to discover Old City of Istanbul, UNESCO World Heritage Site. Visit ancient Byzantine Hippodrome where once chariots ran and thousands of Byzantines cheered them. Some of the important monuments of the Hippodrome are; Egyptian Obelisk dating back to 16th century BC, Serpentine Column from 5th century BC, and the Stone Obelisk erected in 10th century A.D. Then visit the Blue Mosque built in the 17th century famous for its six minarets and beautiful Iznik tiles as interior decoration. It's still in use and is the most important mosque in Istanbul. Afterwards visit Hagia Sophia, glory of the Byzantine Empire, built in the 6th century and houses magnificent gold-leafed mosaics. The Church was converted into a mosque after the Ottoman conquest of Constantinople in the 15th century, then into a museum after the Republic, and then into mosque again in July 2020. After a lunch break, visit Topkapi Palace, once the residence of the Ottoman Sultans located on a hilltop dominating the Bosphorus and the Golden Horn. Today, it's a museum where precious displays such as Sultan's costumes and Treasury can be visited. At the end visit to the world famous Grand Bazaar for your shopping of traditional goods. October 15th 2024 / Troy: After breakfeast check-out from hotel and departure to Dardanelles. Lunch on arrival at Canakkale. Then we visit legendary Archaeeological Site of Troy, UNESCO World Heritage Site, a city which existed over 4.000 years, city of Priam and Hector. Troy appeared in Greek and Latin literature. Homer first mentioned story of Troy in his Iliad and Odyssey. Later, it became the most popular subject in Greek drama. Next we will visit the Trojan Museum, located right next to the ancient city. The life of Troy and its cultures, which left their mark in the Troas Region, which went down in history with Homer's Iliad Epic, and its archeological history are told through the artifacts unearthed from the excavations. Diner and overnight in Çanakkale.

October 16th 2024 Troy / Pergamon / Izmir: After breakfeast check-out from hotel and departure to Pergamon. We visit this great civilization dating back to the 4th century BC. located in a large valley. After lunch departure to Izmir, Arrive to Izmir around 17:00 and check in to your congress hotel.

İzmir - Pamukkale - Cappadocia Tour (3 Nights)

 

October 21th 2024 / Izmir Afrodisias - Pamukkale: After breakfeast departure from our hotel in the morning, at 08:30. Proceed to Aphrodisias, UNESCO World Heritage City and then visit the ancient city dedicated to Aphrodite, visiting also stadium, one of the best preserved of antiquity and theater. After The lunch, continue to Hierapolis, classified UNESCO World Heritage and visit this antique city's Roman and early Christian relics with the largest Necropolis in Asia Minor, and Pamukkale's thermal natural pools. Possibility to use thermal pool of your hotel. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.


October 22th 2024 / Pamukkale Konya - Cappadocia: After breakfast, depart for Konya to visit the Mausoleum of Mevlana, Sufi mystic, founder of The Mevlevi Order (Whirling Dervish, known by name in the world) belief emphasize the importance of divine love, forgiving, and leaving one's personal desires behind to be spiritually reborn as a human being and receive God's beneficence. After lunch depart to Cappadocia. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.


October 23th 2024 / Cappadocia: (Optional Hot Air Baloon Tour) After breakfeast, full day visit of this extraordinary region, classified UNESCO World Heritage. Today you'll visit Kaymakli (or Derinkuyu) underground city carved like a maze by early Christians escaping from persecutions. The Goreme Valley, famous for its rock churches with incredible Byzantine frescoes. The Pasabag Valley reminding a lunar surface with its panorama and typical formations of "fairy chimneys". Lunch during visits. Uchisar valley, with rock houses and a natural citadel. Avanos village, which has the longest river of Turkey passing through and thus making this small town an attraction for its pottery and other handicrafts. Diner and overnight in your hotel.
